During our 4-month stay on NZ's South Island, we found peace and tranquility at Highlands Farm Stay. The landscape is stunning, with stars and the milky way visible at night, creating a magical atmosphere. The wooden cabin provided everything we needed, including a hot tub for relaxing after a day trip to Mt. Cook. The friendly owners, Ange and her team, were incredibly helpful, offering animal food and even wine delivery. The cabin had all the necessary amenities, including a smart TV with Netflix, fast internet, and a well-equipped kitchen. The highlight was the dark sky reserve, allowing us to view every single star in the sky. We would definitely return to this incredible place.

    We highly recommend this hotel.

our valentines day stay at the farm exceeded our previous twizel experience. the personal touch, from the warm communication to the lovely little touches in the house, made us feel right at home. the highlight was walking around the farm and feeding the animals - alpacas, sheep, goats, and chickens! the two garden bathtubs under the stars were icing on the cake. highly recommend!

    Limited entertainment options.

The cottage was clean and modern, with double glazing for a cozy stay. We enjoyed sitting on the porch at night to stargaze. Hand feeding the animals in the morning was a bonus. the breakfast provided was thoughtful, saving us the trouble of finding food elsewhere. the selection of granola, toast, butter, jam, muesli.

The skylight in the Shepherd Huts didn't have a curtain, so light-sensitive sleepers should bring an eye mask. It was a bit inconvenient to leave big suitcases in the car due to the small size of the huts.

Lovely stay at a charming farm accommodation. We had a delightful morning interacting with adorable farm animals, feeding alpacas, cows, horse, goat. The view from the roof window was breathtaking, especially on a clear night. The hostess was helpful and the surroundings were gorgeous. highly recommended!

I had an incredible stay at the farm. The location was breathtaking, with stunning views in every direction. The highlight was definitely the stargazing opportunity right outside the hut. The sky lights above the bed added a special touch, allowing me to fall asleep under the stars. The heating in the hut was great, keeping me warm and cozy. The owners provided animal feed, fresh orange juice, milk, and even allowed us to pick our own eggs from the coop. The farm experience was amazing, with friendly and adorable animals. this was easily one of the best places I've stayed at for the price.

    No complaints.

We had a truly amazing time at this cozy and welcoming farm stay. The location was absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The cottage itself was well-equipped and incredibly comfortable, making us feel right at home. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable, with excellent communication and helpful information. We especially loved the opportunity to interact with the friendly animals and feed them, it was such a unique experience. a perfect getaway for families with kids.

We didn't have the chance to personally meet the hosts during our stay.
